John specialises in the regulation and professional conduct of solicitors.  He acts on behalf of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (‘SRA’), acting as the SRA’s agent when it closes down solicitors’ firms (known as interventions) and also investigates allegations of professional misconduct about solicitors.

John has:

  • been involved in more than 100 interventions
  • investigated more than 1,250 complaints of alleged professional misconduct about solicitors
  • led a team investigating over 400 claims against the SRA’s Compensation Fund totalling almost £100m

John also helps to deal with the firm’s own regulatory and compliance requirements and to co-ordinate the improvement in the delivery of the firm’s services.
