Rising Stars recognised
Wednesday 22nd October 2014
Promising young talent working within finance and accountancy in Yorkshire were presented with awards by two of our partners at a ceremony at Oulton Hall, Leeds.
Gordons sponsored the Yorkshire Rising Star Awards scheme which recognises outstanding qualified or part-qualified accountants who have made significant contributions to the running of their businesses and could be the finance directors of tomorrow.
On the night, Victoria Davey, head of operations and compliance partner, took to the stage to hand out awards to Amy Smith, from Seabrook Crisps, winner of the West/North Yorkshire under £30m turnover category and Emma Bristow, from Park Leisure, winner of the West/North Yorkshire £30m to £100m turnover category.
Victoria said: “Our strong links with the accountancy profession are a very important feature of our business so it has been a pleasure to support the awards through sponsorship and be a part of discovering future talent in the finance sector.”
As a sponsor, some of the Gordons team were able to meet this year’s nominees at their offices and learn more about some of Yorkshire’s largest companies including Asda, ghd, Seabrook Crisps, Dransfield Properties, Go Outdoors, Drax Power plc, Morrisons, Costcutter and Plusnet.
