Announcement – Bryony Goldspink
Monday 1st January 2024
We are deeply saddened to announce that Bryony Goldspink passed away on Friday 22 December. Bryony died peacefully, surrounded by those she loved.
Bryony had been living with cancer for over a year. After initial treatment, she bravely returned to work in April to resume her role as a highly valued member of the employment team. Bryony worked up to just before Christmas when she suffered a stroke from which she was unable to recover.
Having started her training contract with Gordons in September 2007, Bryony qualified into the employment team on 15 September 2009. She became a partner in April 2022.
In her early career, Bryony quickly settled into a role where she advised in relation to all aspects of employment law, becoming a very successful advocate and appearing in Employment Tribunals, across the country, representing employers of all types. She built up a particular specialisation in equal pay litigation involving clients in the retail sector. However, Bryony’s preferred expertise was in the corporate field, where she was involved in numerous and varied mergers and acquisitions.
Bryony always provided invaluable support, clarity and advice to our clients and her colleagues. We will all remember Bryony for her unfailing positivity and smiling personality even in the most challenging of times.
We have lost and will all miss a great friend, colleague, partner and very talented lawyer.
Our hearts go out to Bryony’s husband, Nick and her two sons Jonah and Flynn and to all who were privileged to have known her.
For those who wish donate to the family’s chosen charity, Bowel Cancer UK, and leave messages of condolence, the following fundraising page has been set up.
