Gordons has been shortlisted in two categories at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2024.

The awards, which will be held on October 10 at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, will see hundreds of the county’s professionals gather to celebrate the successes of Yorkshire’s legal community.

Gordons’ head of privacy and data protection Lauren Wills-Dixon has been shortlisted for the Yorkshire lawyer of the year award and Gordons is also shortlisted for the regulatory and compliance award.

The shortlistings are recognition of a successful 12 months for both Lauren and the regulatory and compliance team.

As part of Lauren’s work, she has advised hair and beauty brand Cloud Nine on its partnership with Frankie Bridge. Lauren led the Gordons team that was appointed by Houseful, parent company of brands such as  Zoopla, Alto and Hometrack to support its in-house legal team.

Lauren was also recently quoted by the BBC in its coverage of the provisional £6m fine for an NHS software provider following a data breach in 2022.

Gordons’ regulatory and compliance team has enjoyed success following the appointment of Simon Tingle as head of regulatory in 2023. Earlier this year, the team was hired by Decathlon for regulatory advice.

Victoria Davey, managing partner at Gordons, said: “These two shortlistings are recognition of the fantastic work done by Lauren and the regulatory and compliance team.

“Lauren has excelled in becoming a trusted advisor to our clients thanks to her approachable and practical way of working, so she is thoroughly deserving of this shortlisting.

“Our regulatory and compliance team led by Simon has developed strong client relationships to support them in navigating the ever-changing regulatory landscape.

“We wish both Lauren and the regulatory and compliance team the very best of the luck for the awards evening.”
