Mark Smith

Mark is a seasoned commercial disputes lawyer who specialises in construction and engineering disputes, risk management and dispute avoidance. He has a breadth of experience in advising and representing clients in the retail, education, transport, energy, utilities, water and power sectors, acting for contractors, sub-contractors, employers, the public sector and professionals in the construction and engineering fields including architects and project managers.

Mark is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution including litigation, arbitration and adjudication; and helping clients achieve optimal outcomes in ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution), whether that be mediation, expert determination or negotiation.

Mark is familiar with a broad range of standard forms of contract including JCT, NEC, IChemE  and FIDIC and has also advised on non-standard form contracts with bespoke dispute resolution mechanisms.

He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
