The Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Act 2023

Wednesday 5th June 2024

This will allow eligible employed parents whose newborn baby is admitted to neonatal care to take up to 12 weeks of paid leave.

Details of these rights will be set out in separate regulations, but no regulations have been published so far.

Given the dissolution of Parliament and the upcoming general election, it is currently unknown whether the right will still come into force as originally scheduled.
