Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Act 2023

This Act will give workers and agency workers the right to request a predictable work pattern if they meet certain criteria.
These criteria include: Minimum length of service, around 26 weeks’ continuous service.
The worker having a lack of predictability regarding the worker’s work pattern. For example, if they are on a zero hours contract or have a fixed contract for 12 months or less.
The request relates to the ‘work pattern’ e.g. hours worked, days of the week, time of shifts or length of contract. When the worker’s purpose of request is to get a more predictable working pattern. If the worker has made no more than two applications in the last year (includes any flexible working applications).
Separate regulations are required to bring these rights into force, but no regulations have been published yet.
It is currently unknown if and when these rights will come into force.
