Tuesday 23rd October 2018
Yorkshire law firm Gordons has appointed a sector specialist to spearhead the ongoing development of its rapidly growing technology practice, both within the region and beyond.
Solicitor Ryan Gracey joins Gordons from the Leeds office of Addleshaw Goddard. He has more than 11 years’ experience advising on IT, intellectual property and technology law.
Gordons’ technology sector clients include gaming platform SkyBet, global sports website and app provider Pitchero, logistics provider Advanced Intelligent Supply Chain and telemetry solutions provider Vianet.
The news follows soon after Gordons announced a strategic partnership with Northern Powerhouse-centric tech investment platform NorthInvest. The initial three-year partnership involves Gordons working closely with NorthInvest’s senior management team to identify, connect and develop early stage tech start-ups throughout the north of England.
Ryan is highly rated by key legal directory Chambers and Partners which describes him as a “fantastic, knowledgeable lawyer” who is also “personable, practical, intelligent and responsive” with an ability to “get to grips with the matter at hand quickly”.
Commenting on his appointment, Ryan said: “Gordons is a progressive firm with an entrepreneurial attitude which it shares with clients. This attitude is particularly abundant in digital and technology businesses, making Gordons ideal advisers to the sector.
“I’m looking forward to growing the firm’s already excellent digital and technology client base whilst further developing our relationship with NorthInvest.”
